Erik G BirkertsErik has 20 years of practical, hands-on experience centered on the design, implementation and/or repositioning of go-to-market strategies.  In particular, he specializes in leveraging indirect sales channels and partnerships to achieve cost effective market coverage and profitable revenue growth. 

Erik has been on the senior management teams for two IPOs of venture capital backed companies.  Erik most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and EVP of Orion Energy Systems (NASDAQ: OESX) a leading manufacturer of energy efficient lighting systems and renewable technologies.  His experience as a public company operating executive gives him unique insight into the challenges faced by management teams.

Erik earned his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BA with honors in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.

Thomas G. Knight

Erik G BirkertsTom has 20 years of sales and general management experience centered on elevating the growth trajectory of companies. He specializes in aligning Sales Strategy with Sales Organization Structure, and Performance Management.

He has a strong strategic and implementation focus that serves to engage senior management quickly in understanding and committing to proposed change. He has served clients in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and is a frequent lecturer on sales strategy and sales management issues, and serves on the board of the Sales Management Association. Prior to entering consulting, he served as a National Account Manager responsible for the National not-for-profit healthcare market, with WilTel Communications Systems. In consulting, he has served as a leader of Sales practices at Mercer and Axiom and was a Managing Director of Sibson & Company’s Chicago office.

Tom earned his MBA, with an emphasis in Operations and Marketing, at Loyola University’s GSB and his BS in Commerce, with special attainments, from Washington and Lee University.
